Reading in Kyrgyz

Wikipedia in Kyrgyz
Wikipedia, the free online encyclopedia, now has a Kyrgyz version! It's still very small - there were only 7 articles when I last visited (21 May 2005).

Elmira Kochumkulkizi's website
Includes Kyrgyz proverbs with English translations, Kyrgyz folktales in English, and a variety of songs (most of the song links lead to empty pages however).

The Lord's Prayer
"Our Father" in Kyrgyz from the Convent of Pater Noster. Two translations of the prayer are featured (1870 and 1982).

hmm, the Kyrgyz proverbs don't show up for me. Do you know how I can fix this? I can't find any working Kyrgyz font on the net because nowadays everyone uses standard fonts with Unicode.

Dear "anonymous"

there is lot of working Kyrgyz letters on a computer and on a net too.

If you are using Windows XP, you can tape Kyrgyz letters easily on a MS Office Applications.

change the keyboard input language to KY and pres
- Shift + right ALT + J in order to get Kyrgyz letter " Ө "
- right ALT + J in order to get Kyrgyz letter " ө "
- Shift + right ALT + Y in order to get Kyrgyz letter " Ң "
- right ALT + Y" in order to get Kyrgyz letter " ң "
- Shift + right ALT + E in order to get Kyrgyz letter " Ү "
right ALT + E in order to get Kyrgyz letter " ү "

if you come to Bishkek/Kyrgyzstan, you can buy a keyboard with Kyrgyz Layout.

best regards,
